Our 2009 vacation is still in the planning stages. Our tentative plan right now is to rent a cabin in the Smokey Mountains near Dollywood (Pigeon Forge, Tennessee). We are not planning to go on vaction until early August so you won't see any pictures on here for quite a while.
Originally, we were thinking about going to Niagara Falls, New York. We decided to put that one off for another time though. When we started looking into costs, it got a little hairy, especially a hotel near the falls. There are cheap ones but they are several miles away and most of them are hole in the wall, wouldn't send my worst enemy there kind of places. We were looking for something decent within walking distance of the falls. Plus, restaurant prices will drain you.
At least at a cabin in the Smokeys, we can cook out on a grill or in the cabin. It gets a little less expensive that way. We think we would have a better time there anyway. Besides, we're taking our dog with us. We'll see come August.
